Bo Ryan is a lot like old school coaches that we wish were still involved in college sports. Like Bo Schembechler and Bobby Knight. He is what’s right about college sports. What is wrong with holding kids to a higher standard these days and teaching them more about life lessons than basketball lessons?
Here is Bo's stance: he wants Jarrod Utoff to come in and talk to him face to face, and tell him why he wants to leave Wisconsin. Jarrod will not do that. Jarrod also sent a letter to the Associate Athletic Director Justin Doherty, but he did not deliver it to the AAD himself, he had one of his friends deliver it.
If you were a parent, how would you tell your son/daughter to handle this? I know what I would do. I would tell my son/daughter to be a man/woman and go in and face your coach and let him know why you are leaving. Did you like the way Brett Favre handled the situation with the Packers or the way Peyton Manning handled his situation with the Colts. If I were a parent, I would be proud of how Peyton handled it. There are certain ways to handle situations, not just in sports but in life. If you were leaving a regular job would you just leave a voicemail and not come back?
