The Packers could not come to terms with free agent defensive back Sam Shields this weekend so he will test the market. May not be the worst thing in the world for the Packers. Over-paying a player,who isnt one of the better corners in the league would be a bad decision and Ted is totally in the right here.
Shields probably thought that he had the Packers backed up in a corner, because of the lack of playmakers in the defensive backfield with Shield's foot speed.. Not worried that Ted is selling the defensive back position short like he did backup quarterback. At the end of the day, Shields,who at one point was borderline on making the team a shorttime back, will be a waste of money for anyone who overpays for him
